First Grade Teacher

Hello! I am Mrs. Nelson and I teach first grade here at Beverly. I have always known I wanted to be a teacher, and I attribute that to the wonderful teachers that inspired me as I grew up. I have always had a passion for learning and creating, and I love sharing my ideas with others. My dream was always to teach 2nd grade, and after graduating as a Bobcat from Texas State University in 2013, I began my teaching career in a second grade classroom in Bryan, Texas. However, being born and raised in McKinney, I always thought of the DFW area as home, so I decided to move back to build my teaching career and life here. I knew I could not pass up the opportunity to teach at Beverly.  I found my place here in a first grade class, and  I would not want to be anywhere else. I love the joy of learning that first graders bring to the classroom, and I grow as a teacher every year by remembering to stop and view life through my first graders' eyes.
