Karen Williams

My name is Karen Williams, and it is truly an honor to serve as the principal of Beverly Elementary. I believe that education is a calling to serve students, families, and the community, and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of our Beverly Bobcats. My primary goal is to build upon the great accomplishments of our students and staff. My values closely align with our school motto, “We Believe, We Achieve, We Excel.” I am committed to creating an environment where everyone feels valued and where students can thrive academically and socially/emotionally. By fostering this culture, our school will continue to promote high levels of achievement for all learners. As a Beverly community, I look forward to working together to ensure students develop a strong foundation for success and a lifelong love of learning.

I am proudly Plano ISD–grown. My own academic journey began in Plano ISD schools—Weatherford, Haggard, Vines, and Plano Senior High School. My Plano education encouraged me to pursue my dreams and ultimately graduate with a teaching degree from Texas A&M University. As a young teacher in the district, Plano ISD also supported my continued learning as I earned my master’s degree from the University of North Texas, fueling my lifelong passion for education. During my first ten years as an educator, I served as a second-grade teacher and team leader at Rasor Elementary and a third-grade teacher at Daffron Elementary. I then taught third and fifth grades for ten years in McKinney ISD at Valley Creek Elementary. After completing my administrative certification, I returned to Plano ISD as an assistant principal at Skaggs Elementary and Hedgcoxe Elementary. My 27 years in education have provided countless opportunities to positively impact students and families, and I am excited to continue this journey as your Beverly Bobcat principal.

My family is my heart. I am grateful for a strong and loving support system. My husband, Greg, and I have been married for nearly 28 years, and we are proud parents of two amazing sons. Sean is a junior at Texas A&M University studying political science, and Ryan is a seventh grader who enjoys playing the trumpet in band. My siblings all live nearby and are former Plano Wildcats as well. As both an educator and a parent, my daily goal is to ensure our students feel safe, cared for, and supported so meaningful learning can take place.

I am thrilled to be the newest member of the Beverly Bobcat family and look forward to meeting you soon.
